Role Overview
As a Flying Instructor, you will play a key role in training the next generation of pilots, delivering both flight and ground school instruction to students at various stages of their training. You will provide high-quality instruction on our C152, C172, and PA-28 aircraft, ensuring students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to achieve their licences and ratings.
This role requires a safety-focused and motivated professional who can inspire and guide students while working closely with the Chief Flying Instructor and the wider training team. Alongside practical instruction, you will contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the continuous development of our training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
· Delivering flight training on company C152, C172, and P28A aircraft in accordance with the Tatenhill Aviation Flying Order Book for:
· Guiding and teaching students through the required manoeuvres, skills, and competencies to achieve the relevant rating.
· Providing ground school instruction, covering theoretical knowledge to prepare students for written exams and flight training.
· Monitoring, evaluating, and recording student performance, ensuring accurate completion of training records.
· Ensuring safety and compliance by operating aircraft in line with the Flying Order Book and applicable aviation legislation.
· Promoting and instilling a strong safety culture among students, staff, and other operators at Tatenhill Airfield.
Requirements & Skills
· Hold a valid FI(A) or CRI(A) rating
· Hold a valid CPL(A) (or PPL(A) with at least 200 hours total time, including 150 hours as PIC)
· Hold a valid SEP (Land) rating
· Hold a valid medical certificate of the appropriate class
· Strong leadership and instructional skills
· Ability to operate effectively in a team under the guidance of the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI)
· Excellent knowledge of aviation regulations and procedures
· Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficiency in flight planning and navigation techniques
