Mission
Provide expert guidance and leadership in the creation, updating, and compliance of flight operations manuals within the company, according to regulatory requirements and company standards, to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
Tasks & responsibilities
Academic background
Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, as the role requires a solid foundation in aeronautical principles, regulations, and engineering practices, which are essential for understanding and managing the complexities of flight operations manuals.
Extensive knowledge of flight operations manuals and regulatory requirements, as the candidate must be thoroughly familiar with the structure, content, and purpose of flight operations manuals. This includes understanding how these manuals are affected by both internal changes and external regulatory updates.
Familiarity with EASA regulations and IATA standards, as a deep understanding of these regulatory frameworks is essential for ensuring that all manuals and procedures comply with current standards. The candidate should be able to interpret these regulations and apply them practically within the company's operations
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in flight operations or related fields, that should include significant exposure to the creation, updating, and compliance of flight operations manuals. It is crucial for understanding the regulatory landscape and the practical application of these regulations within an airline context.
Experience in managing audits and liaising with regulatory bodies, as the candidate should have a proven track record of preparing for and leading audits, both internal and external, including those conducted by EASA and IATA. This includes experience in responding to auditor queries and implementing any necessary changes resulting from audit findings.
Proven experience in project management and leading complex projects, as the role requires managing large-scale projects, such as the introduction of new aircraft types or major changes in operational procedures. This involves coordinating with various departments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
Skills
High proficiency in English C1, both written and spoken, as given the international nature of the aviation industry and the need to communicate with regulatory bodies, service providers, and industry counterparts, a high level of proficiency in English is mandatory.
High proficiency C1 in Spanish is essential for communication with national regulator as well as for updating manuals that are required to be in both English and Spanish.
