The Role

We are looking for skilled B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineers to join our Line Maintenance team at London Gatwick.

Gatwick is a busy and varied operational environment, currently supporting both our Airbus A320 family and Boeing 777 fleets. Our team is responsible for keeping the operation moving, managing everything from day-to-day line maintenance and defect rectification through to aircraft casualties and scheduled maintenance activity.

It is also an exciting time to join the Gatwick team. In the coming years, our long-haul operation will transition from the B777 to new Boeing 787 aircraft powered by GEnx engines. This provides an excellent opportunity to join us now, build your experience and be part of the next generation of British Airways Engineering at Gatwick, with future opportunities to develop skills and approvals on the B787 and GEnx.

No two shifts are quite the same. You could be supporting the live flying programme, troubleshooting and rectifying a technical defect, recovering an aircraft casualty or completing planned maintenance activity.

Our core roster is a 2 days / 2 nights pattern, working 12-hour shifts, giving you a predictable working pattern alongside the variety of a 24/7 aircraft operation.

Just as importantly, you’ll be joining a friendly, supportive and experienced team. We work closely together across Engineering and the wider operation, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and getting the aircraft back into service.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

We are also very keen to hear from dual-licensed B1/B2 engineers. If you hold both B1 and B2 privileges, your broader skills and experience would be particularly welcome within our Gatwick Line Maintenance operation.

Whether your experience is primarily on the A320 family, B777 or you are looking to broaden your aircraft approvals through further training, Gatwick offers an excellent opportunity to develop while working across a varied and operationally focused maintenance environment. The future introduction of the B787 GEnx fleet adds another exciting dimension, particularly for B1 engineers looking to develop experience on a new-generation aircraft and engine platform as the Gatwick operation evolves.
